IS-linked Australian citizens return from Syria to face charges

Four Australian women and nine children with ties to the Islamic State group have booked flights from Damascus, Syria, to return to Australia.

Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke stated that the Australian government was alerted to these flight bookings on Wednesday.

Australian Federal Police Commissioner Krissy Barrett confirmed that some individuals will be arrested and charged upon arrival. Other members of the returning group may be kept under investigation.
