Pakistan challenges court order to move ex-PM Imran Khan to private hospital

Pakistan's Supreme Court has ordered that jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan be moved to a private hospital following concerns regarding his deteriorating health. Khan has been held in prison for more than three years with limited public visibility.

The Pakistani government has challenged this ruling, filing a petition on Wednesday to seek a review of the court's decision. Government officials argue that the former Prime Minister should be examined at a public hospital.

However, a senior Pakistani Cabinet minister noted that the government could consider allowing Khan to receive treatment at a private hospital or abroad if adequate medical care is found to be unavailable at a government facility.
