Benjamin Netanyahu’s corruption trial will resume on Sunday, according to a statement from the courts’ spokesperson on Thursday. The resumption follows the lifting of a state of emergency imposed during Israel’s recent conflict with Iran.

The trial began in 2020 and centers around charges of bribery, fraud, and breach of trust, initially brought against the Prime Minister in 2019. Netanyahu maintains his innocence regarding these allegations.

A previous resumption date had been set for April 12. If convicted, Netanyahu could face jail time.
