Explosives Found Near Serbia-Hungary Gas Pipeline

Explosives of “devastating power” were discovered near a major gas pipeline supplying Serbia and Hungary, officials reported Sunday. Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated that police and army personnel uncovered the detonators and explosives near the Balkan Stream pipeline, which carries Russian gas.

The pipeline extends through Serbia and into Hungary, providing a crucial energy supply to the region. Vučić confirmed speaking with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán following the discovery.

The devices were reportedly found outside Kanjiza, near Serbia’s border with Hungary. This incident occurs just a week before Hungary’s pivotal elections on April 12, where Prime Minister Orbán is campaigning to remain in power.
