FIFA has issued bans and fines to several players and officials following violence and incidents during the World Cup. These disciplinary actions follow a scuffle after the final match between Argentina and Spain in East Rutherford, N.J., on July 19, 2026.

Midfielder Leandro Paredes received the harshest penalty with a 10-match suspension and a $90,000 fine for his role in the clashes. Defender Nahuel Molina was handed a seven-match ban and a $90,000 fine, while Thiago Almada was given a one-game suspension.

In addition to the Argentina players, one Argentina coach and Spanish player Gavi were also banned. Separately, FIFA issued a $321,000 fine to the Argentina team and federation for displaying a Falkland Islands banner after their semi-final victory over England.
