Iran has accused Qatar of holding three of its pilots for half a year in violation of international law, leading to heightened tensions between the two nations. Tehran claims the pilots were captured alive by Qatari forces after their fighter jets were shot down early in the US-Israel war with Iran.
The Iranian government stated that the pilots went missing while carrying out an operation against Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar. While Tehran maintains that Qatari forces captured the crew members, Qatar has denied these claims and denies holding the three individuals.
An Iranian military official has stated that Qatar should allow an Iranian team to enter the country to investigate the fate of the missing pilots.
