Pakistan's Supreme Court has ordered authorities to transfer imprisoned former Prime Minister Imran Khan from jail to a private hospital in the capital for a medical examination. The order comes after concerns were raised regarding the 73-year-old opposition leader's blood pressure and deteriorating health.

The former cricket star has been in prison for more than three years, having been jailed in 2023 on corruption charges. Khan and his wife were sentenced to 17 years of jail last year after facing several graft legal cases, though Khan claims the charges were politically motivated.

The Supreme Court granted the transfer for a month following repeated concerns raised by Khan's family about his health while in custody.
