Elon Musk likely violated Wisconsin law by distributing $1 million checks to voters during the 2025 state Supreme Court election. The payments were handed out at a rally held in the state last year.

Musk distributed the money to three people before the vote. He claimed the election was critical to Donald Trump's agenda and described the outcome as vital to the future of civilization.

A bipartisan elections panel and the Wisconsin Elections Commission found that Musk may have violated state election bribery laws. As a result, the commission has sent two complaints to prosecutors accusing the businessman of violating anti-bribery laws.
