A 14-year-old student opened fire around 10 a.m. Friday at Debsirin Nonthaburi School in Nonthaburi province, northwest of Bangkok, and a family home. The gunman ran amok for 40 minutes using his grandfather's gun before taking his own life. The incident is Thailand's worst mass shooting since 2022.

The attack left nine people dead and 23 wounded. Among the deceased were five school staff members, including three teachers and two school officials, as well as a 12-year-old girl. According to Thailand's Health Ministry, 14 people remained hospitalised on Saturday, seven of whom were in critical condition.

Relatives of those killed collected their loved ones' bodies on Saturday. In the wake of the shooting, Thailand faces fresh pressure over its gun laws.
