Gunmen carried out two separate attacks on the coast of northern Honduras on Thursday.
Reports on the casualties differ, with some indicating at least 16 people were killed, including six police officers, while other reports state at least 24 people died, including four police officers.
Details of the incidents reveal that one attack involved a police raid, and the other occurred on a palm farm, where rural labourers were killed.
The attacks come as the government continues a drive to crack down on organised crime.
