Synagogue Arson Suspects Hunted, Two Arrested in London

Police are investigating an attempted arson attack on a synagogue in north London as an antisemitic hate crime. The incident occurred shortly after midnight on Wednesday, when two individuals wearing dark clothing and balaclavas approached Finchley Reform Synagogue.

Two bottles, believed to contain petrol, were thrown at the building but failed to ignite. Specialist counter-terrorism officers are involved in the investigation, marking the latest incident concerning the capital’s Jewish community.

A 47-year-old woman was arrested in Watford just after 4:45pm Wednesday, and a 46-year-old man was arrested in the same area at 7:15pm. Both suspects remain in police custody.

Police are seeking information regarding the incident and continue their investigation.
