French President Emmanuel Macron began a two-day visit to the UK on Wednesday, arriving after first heading to the Netherlands. Macron will be joined by King Charles and Prime Minister Andy Burnham at the British Museum to inaugurate and view an exhibition of the historic Bayeux Tapestry. The nearly 1,000-year-old embroidery depicts the conquest of England by King Charles's ancestor, William I, in 1066.
Macron is the first EU leader to meet with the new British Prime Minister, Andy Burnham. The leaders are expected to hold talks on Thursday.
Prime Minister Burnham is seeking concrete outcomes from these discussions, eyeing closer post-Brexit cooperation with the European Union.
