Two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch has died at the age of 41. Nascar expressed that it is heartbroken to share the news of the passing of one of the sport’s greatest and fiercest drivers. Busch had been hospitalized with a severe illness, as confirmed by his family and representatives on Thursday.
A Las Vegas native, Busch won more races across NASCAR's three national series than any other driver in history. Over more than two decades in the sport, he secured 63 Cup Series victories, placing him among the top 10 drivers of all time. He was in his 22nd full-time season in the top division, where he earned Cup Series titles in 2015 and 2019.
The news comes three days before Busch was set to run the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Nascar extended its deepest condolences to the Busch family, Richard Childress Racing, and the entire motorsports community.
