Amazon and the Television Academy have struck a six-year deal to move the Emmy Awards to streaming, ending the ceremony's seven-decade run on traditional US broadcast networks.

The television industry's marquee awards show will stream exclusively and free on Prime Video worldwide. Non-Amazon Prime subscribers will also be able to watch the awards show on the platform.

This transition follows the lead of the Oscars and ends a decadeslong rotation among ABC, CBS, Fox, and NBC. The gala is leaving traditional broadcast networks for live worldwide streaming.
