A Coast Guard jet carrying Homeland Security Secretary Mark Wayne Mullin made an emergency landing Wednesday afternoon near Washington after one of its engines failed. The aircraft landed at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.
The pilot informed air traffic controllers in the Washington area that there were 14 people on board. Mullin stated that the single-engine landing went smoothly.
No injuries were reported following the landing. The Ronald Reagan National Airport authority said there was no disruption to other flights.
