Four railway workers killed by express train at railway station in Japan

Four men in their 50s and 60s were killed on Thursday after being hit by an express train while working on railroad tracks in Japan.

The incident took place at Shin-Kanuma Station in Tochigi Prefecture, north of Tokyo. The workers had been performing weeding on the tracks when they were struck.

Railway officials said it is unclear why the workers did not leave the site when the train was approaching, or what the lookout people were doing.
