A Thai court has sentenced two Uyghur men to death after finding them guilty of murder for the August 2015 bomb attack on Bangkok's Erawan Shrine.

The explosion occurred at the popular Hindu shrine located in the city's commercial heart, an area frequented by foreign tourists. The attack killed 20 people, including a Singaporean, and wounded over 100 others.

The defendants, who denied the charges of planting the bomb, have stated that they will appeal the death sentence.
