UAE intercepts Iranian drone and calls attack 'dangerous escalation'

Iran's army reported that it attacked the United Arab Emirates' Al Minhad Air Base with drones early Monday. However, the UAE defense ministry stated that its air force engaged a drone over territorial waters coming from Iran and rejected reports of an attack on the Al Menhad airbase as false.

The incident follows a strike by U.S. forces on Sunday against Iranian rocket launchers on an Iranian island, an action that broke a lull in fighting during the ongoing six-month war.

In response to the fended-off attack, the UAE called for a more realistic approach to end the conflict. Meanwhile, Trump stressed last week that he is not in a hurry to get Iran back to the negotiating table.
