Nara Organics recalls baby formula after multistate infant botulism outbreak

diseases

Nara Organics has voluntarily recalled all of its organic powdered whole milk infant formula nationwide following a multistate outbreak of infant botulism. The formula, which is manufactured in Europe, was sold through Target stores and online at Nara.com.

Three babies, between the ages of 2 and 5 months, were hospitalized in California, Pennsylvania, and Washington after consuming the product. These infants were treated for confirmed or suspected botulism.

The recall was initiated over concerns of a potential risk of Clostridium botulinum contamination. This represents the second total recall of a baby formula brand linked to the deadly illness.
