Pam Bondi, the former US attorney general, will not appear for a scheduled deposition before the House oversight and government reform committee regarding the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein and the release of related files.

The Department of Justice stated Bondi’s appearance on April 14th is cancelled as she is no longer Attorney General and was subpoenaed in that capacity. Despite her recent dismissal, some House members intend to pursue the subpoena.

Bondi was fired last week, reportedly due to discontent with her handling of the release of records pertaining to Epstein. The Oversight Committee confirmed she will not comply with the congressional subpoena due to her no longer being in office.
