South Korean golfer Jenny Shin ended a decade-long wait for her second LPGA victory by winning the Women’s Scottish Open at Dundonald Links. The 33-year-old secured a two-shot victory, finishing at 9 under par. This marks her first win since the Texas Shootout in May 2016.
Shin entered the final round with a five-shot lead, having carded a 1-under 71 in the third round to reach 12 under. During the final round, she struggled to a 3-over 75, including three straight bogies on holes 6 through 8 and two bogies on the last three holes. Shin noted that while she was not as nervous as the previous day, she struggled with hitting her shots into bunkers and bushes.
A Lim Kim finished in second place after shooting a 4-under 68, featuring four straight birdies. Thailand's Pajaree Anannarukarn, who had moved into second place after a bogey-free 69 in the third round, finished third after shooting a 74.
Shin expressed that unlike her first win, which felt accidental, this victory felt earned through hard work. The Women’s Scottish Open is part of a three-tournament swing through Europe between the Evian Championship and the Women’s British Open at Royal Lytham & St. Annes.
