President Donald Trump announced the withdrawal of 5,000 US soldiers from Germany following comments from the German chancellor stating that the US was being humiliated by Iran.
Although 30,000 US troops remain in the country, Trump indicated on Saturday that further reductions are coming. He told reporters that the US will cut way down and a lot further than 5,000.
The move has stunned European leaders and senior members of Trump's own party. Two top Republican lawmakers expressed concern on Saturday regarding the Pentagon's decision to withdraw troops from the NATO ally.
