Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, an ally of Hezbollah, stated that the current deal will not pass, describing it as a dictate that fails to preserve Lebanon's rights. Berri vowed to confront the deal politically and warned against the possibility of internal strife.
Hezbollah has characterized the deal as a surrender, noting that Israeli forces remain in place and continue to strike the south. There is growing anger over the agreement as it does not force Israeli troops to withdraw from occupied land after months of deadly attacks.
In separate military developments, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz reported that the US was informed prior to an attack targeting a 200-meter-long tunnel in the town of Majdal Zoun. Netanyahu stated that the tunnel contained hundreds of weapons and launchers.
