Vice President JD Vance described high-level talks with senior Iranian officials in Switzerland as rocky but productive, stating that the discussions resulted in a lot of good progress. Vance noted that these lengthy talks have created a good foundation for a successful final deal to end the war that began at the end of February.
The two sides have agreed to a road map toward reaching a final deal to end the war within 60 days. In a press briefing before departing for the United States, Vance explained that the negotiators have made progress toward a lasting peace deal and have laid the necessary foundation for the final agreement.
Additionally, Tehran and Washington have established communication lines aimed at ending the fighting in Lebanon.
