Home Depot announced Wednesday that CEO and president Ted Decker will take a temporary medical leave of absence.
The leave is expected to last a few months, at which time Decker is expected to return.
To oversee operations during his absence, two long-time executives have been appointed to steer the retailer. The company's chief financial officer and a senior vice president will oversee his duties in the interim.
These executives will lead the company as it navigates a lackluster housing market.
