North Korea's Kim Yo Jong warns of military options over Japan's rearmament

Kim Yo Jong, the sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, warned Wednesday that Pyongyang could adopt additional military options against Japan. She stated that North Korea would not remain a passive onlooker.

Kim Yo Jong accused Japan of moving beyond a defensive posture and reviving the ambitions of a war criminal state. According to Kim, North Korea's leadership will set up these additional military options as a direct result of Japan's transformation.

These warnings follow Japan's gradual move away from its post-World War II pacifist status. Tokyo has been increasing military spending, ramping up defense pacts, and deploying missile launchers to its outer islands.
