Formula One announced on Sunday that Malaysia will host its first race in nine years. The Sepang circuit will stage a rescheduled Bahrain Grand Prix in October, serving as a replacement for the event that was cancelled in April.
The cancellations of the April race at Sakhir and the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in Jeddah were caused by disruption in the Middle East, specifically the situation involving the Iran war and the US-Israel war on Iran.
The race in Malaysia will be slotted between the Azerbaijan Grand Prix on September 26 and the Singapore Grand Prix on October 11.
