President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that he has ordered the Department of Justice to investigate oil companies for alleged price gouging.

The president accused major oil companies of gouging customers by failing to lower gasoline pump prices in accordance with falling crude costs. He stated that gasoline prices are not falling fast enough.

"Gasoline prices better start going down a lot faster than what I’m seeing!" Trump wrote. He did not elaborate on the specific instructions provided to the Department of Justice.
