Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the signing of Brazilian winger Savinho from Manchester City. The 22-year-old, who has chosen to be known as Sávio at his new club, joins in a deal worth an initial £75 million with up to a further £10 million in add-ons.
The transfer takes the club's close-season spending past $400 million under manager Roberto De Zerbi. This investment follows a term in which the club just escaped relegation. De Zerbi stated that Sávio will bring imagination and quality to the team.
Sávio described the move as a wonderful opportunity at a brilliant club with one of the best managers in the world. While he mentioned that the process had taken a while, he expressed that he is very happy to be there.
