Former Wisconsin Judge Hannah Dugan spared prison for obstructing ICE arrest

Former Milwaukee Judge Hannah Dugan has been fined $5,000 after being convicted of felony obstruction. A federal judge issued the fine on Wednesday, sparing the 67-year-old from prison by citing her otherwise law-abiding life.

Dugan was found guilty in December for her role in helping an undocumented Mexican defendant evade U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. The incident occurred last year, when Dugan ushered the man out of her courtroom to obstruct a planned immigration arrest by federal officers.

The sentencing concludes the proceedings against the former Wisconsin judge, who was found to have intentionally hidden the man from federal officers.
