World number one Jannik Sinner has reached the Madrid Open final after a straight-set victory over Arthur Fils. Sinner won the match 6-2 6-4 on Friday to secure his place in the final.
With this win, the top-ranked player has extended his winning streak to 22 matches. He remains on course to achieve a record fifth successive ATP Masters 1000 title.
Sinner noted that the surge of adrenaline accompanying big matches has helped him overcome mounting fatigue following another deep run in a packed season. This marks his maiden Madrid final.
