Marlen Reusser claimed the first yellow jersey of her career during stage four of the Tour de France Femmes. The Swiss rider and reigning world time trial champion lived up to her status as the favorite, winning the 21-kilometer individual time trial from Gevrey-Chambertin to Dijon.
Reusser completed the course in 27 minutes and 30 seconds to secure the stage victory. This performance allowed her to take the overall lead in the race from Sigrid Haugset.
In stage five, race favorite Demi Vollering won a tense three-way sprint. Vollering secured the victory over the yellow jersey holder, but Reusser managed to shadow her Dutch rival to the finish.
Following the conclusion of stage five, Marlen Reusser retained the overall lead by 12 seconds.
