sports football

Ashley Cole has been appointed as the head coach of Italian Serie B side Cesena. The former England international signed a contract with the club running until June 30, with an option to extend his stay under certain conditions. This marks Cole’s first managerial role after retiring from playing in 2019. Cole, 45, enjoyed a decorated playing career with Arsenal and Chelsea, winning numerous Premier League and FA Cup titles, as well as the Champions League and Europa League. He also represented England 107 times. Since retiring, Cole has been developing his coaching skills with Chelsea’s youth setup and as an assistant coach with Everton, Birmingham City, Derby County, and the England national team, working alongside managers like Frank Lampard and Wayne Rooney. Cesena recently fired Michele Mignani and currently sits eighth in the Serie B standings.
