Israeli airstrikes targeted high-ranking Hamas officials in the Gaza Strip over the weekend. On Saturday, a strike killed Brigadier-General Abdel-Nasser Al-Maqadma, the head of the Hamas-led police force in northern Gaza. On Sunday, a senior officer of the Hamas-run internal security service in central Gaza and an associate were killed while traveling in a vehicle through Deir Al-Balah.
Other strikes on Saturday resulted in the deaths of two people in a house in Khan Younis in the south, bringing the total death toll for that day to at least four.
Additionally, four other Palestinians were killed by Israeli airstrikes, and a policeman died from wounds sustained the previous week.
