Karolina Muchova defeated Coco Gauff in a thriller to reach the Wimbledon final. Muchova won the match 6-2, 1-6, 7-6 (12-10), ending Gauff's run at the grass-court Grand Slam.
The contest concluded with a drama-filled deciding-set tie-break described as a rollercoaster. Spanning 18 minutes and 22 points with only one winner, the tie-break saw Muchova recover from being match point down. Gauff's hopes of reaching a maiden Wimbledon final vanished after a split-second of hesitation led to a forehand into the net on match point, though the American said she had no regrets about her shot selection.
Muchova becomes the fourth Czech woman in the past six years to reach the final of the grass-court Grand Slam. This victory also keeps alive hopes of setting up an all-Czech final at a Grand Slam for the first time.
