Vance Boelter is expected to plead guilty to federal charges in federal court Thursday morning following a deadly attack on Minnesota lawmakers.

Boelter is accused of impersonating a law enforcement officer in what authorities have described as a politically motivated assassination. He is charged with the killings of the top Democrat in the Minnesota House, who served as the state's former house speaker, and her husband.

The attack also involved the attempted murders and wounding of a state senator and his wife. U.S. prosecutors announced Wednesday that they will not seek the death penalty as part of a plea agreement with Boelter.
