Man Arrested After Molotov Cocktail Attack on Sam Altman's Home

crime & law

A 20-year-old man was arrested Friday after allegedly throwing a Molotov cocktail at the San Francisco home of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. Police responded to a fire at the residence shortly after 4 a.m., discovering an exterior gate had been set ablaze by an incendiary device.

The suspect, who has not been publicly identified, is also accused of threatening to burn down OpenAI’s headquarters in the city. Officers later detained a man matching the suspect’s description after responding to a separate incident where threats were made at a business.

OpenAI confirmed the home belongs to Altman and that threats were made at their headquarters. No injuries were reported in either incident, and the company is cooperating with the ongoing investigation. Charges are pending and further details have not been released.
