President Donald Trump has accepted an invitation to attend an NBA Finals game at Madison Square Garden next week to root for his hometown New York Knicks. Trump, a native New Yorker and longtime fan of the team, is set to attend Game 3 on Monday night in Manhattan.

The invitation was extended by Knicks owner James Dolan, who has donated to Trump's political campaigns. Regarding the invitation, Trump stated, "The answer is yes — he’s invited me, I’m going."

While eyeing Game 3, Trump did not rule out attending Game 4, noting that he might attend both. If he attends, he would be the first sitting president to attend the NBA Finals.
