Russian forces have targeted major bridges in Kyiv for two consecutive days, striking the Northern Bridge on Saturday following multiple attacks on the Southern Bridge. Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported the latest air attack on the Northern Bridge as part of an escalation in strikes against the Ukrainian capital's infrastructure.
The strike on the Northern Bridge damaged the road surface and trolleybus cables, suspending traffic and causing tailbacks for a third day. The previous day's attacks on the Southern Bridge involved jet-powered drones that forced the crossing to shut. These strikes have disrupted two of the eight bridges connecting the left and right banks of the Dnipro River.
In addition to the bridges, Russian forces hit a logistics center near the capital in a series of drone attacks targeting civilian infrastructure. While no casualties were reported from the latest strike, the campaign continues to threaten vital infrastructure. In response to the intensification of attacks on Kyiv and other cities, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has vowed to hit Russian energy infrastructure.
