Trump threatens Oman over the Strait of Hormuz

President Donald Trump has threatened to blow up Oman, a US ally, if the nation fails to behave. The warning was delivered as a casual aside during a cabinet meeting, with the president stating that Oman will behave just like everybody else or the US will have to blow them up.

The threat follows reports that Oman is negotiating with Iran to jointly control the vital Strait of Hormuz and charge a toll for ships passing through the waterway. President Trump warned that there would be serious repercussions if Iran and Oman move forward with such a deal.

Asserting that the Strait of Hormuz must be open to everyone and that no one can control it, the president threatened to attack Oman if it sides with Iran over the reopening of the passage.

The US is currently scrambling to reopen the crucial waterway, which has been all but closed since the start of the US-Israel war on Iran.
