Slovenian cyclist Tadej Pogacar won stage three of the 113th Tour de France in Les Angles, France, on Monday. The UAE Team Emirates-XRG rider took the yellow jersey and the overall lead from his rival Jonas Vingegaard, who finished second.
The win occurred during a grueling 195.9km ride, marking the first mountain stage of the tour. Pogacar earned his 22nd career stage victory using a late acceleration and a final attack to the finish line.
Pogacar was led out in the final kilometer by teammate Isaac del Toro, who won stage two in Barcelona. Currently, the world champion and Vingegaard are dead level on time.
