Acting U.S. Navy Secretary Hung Cao announced on Thursday that arms sales to Taiwan have been placed on pause. The decision was made to ensure that the American military has sufficient munitions stocks for its operations in Iran.

Speaking during a Senate panel hearing, Cao stated that the pause is intended to make sure the U.S. has the munitions needed for Epic Fury, though he noted that they currently have plenty.

The hold on the massive arms sale comes as President Donald Trump gives mixed signals regarding the sale.
