A gunman opened fire on Monday lunchtime at the historic Teotihuacán pyramids, a popular archaeological site and world heritage site located an hour north of Mexico City. The attack resulted in the death of one Canadian woman and left six other people injured.
Local authorities reported that four of the injured individuals were wounded by gunshots, while two others were injured from falls. Among those wounded were tourists from Canada, Russia, and Colombia. The gunman died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound following the attack.
