Real Madrid has secured the future of Brazilian winger Vinícius Júnior, announcing a contract extension that will keep the star at the Spanish club until June 2032. The new six-year deal brings an end to months of speculation regarding the 26-year-old's future.
Vinícius had entered the final 12 months of his previous contract and had been heavily linked with a move to Premier League champions Arsenal. Interest from the English side grew following a tumultuous 2025-26 campaign in which Real Madrid failed to win a trophy, alongside initial uncertainty following the arrival of José Mourinho.
Since joining the club at age 18, the Brazil international has scored 128 goals in 375 matches and helped the team win 14 titles, including three La Liga championships and two Champions League titles. Real Madrid stated that Vinícius has become one of the most important players in one of the most successful periods in the club's history.
Although financial terms of the extension were not disclosed, the winger agreed to improved terms to remain at the Bernabéu. Writing on Instagram, Vinícius noted that eight years at the club were too few, stating, "6 more years, and then forever!"
