Germany is moving to counter the threats posed by drones following a series of security incidents. Germany and other European countries have repeatedly observed unmanned aerial vehicles flying over sensitive sites such as airports, military bases, and industrial plants.
A recent incident occurred at Leipzig-Halle Airport, where an explosives-laden UAV was discovered near a Ukrainian cargo plane. The device was subsequently defused.
In response to these threats, the nation will double its federal police anti-drone unit to 300 personnel and expand its bases.
Additionally, the CEO of arms giant Rheinmetall has stated that he is not "chickening out" despite alleged plots against him.
