Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany was hospitalized after collapsing during reserve-team training on Friday. The Belgian coach, who had been nursing a virus in recent days and had missed some of his team's training sessions, was taken to the hospital after feeling unwell.

Sporting director Max Eberl confirmed on Saturday that Kompany remains in stable condition while doctors conduct thorough examinations and further tests to determine the nature of his condition. Eberl previously stated that Kompany had been struggling with both a viral infection and a hip injury, which reportedly left him needing help climbing stairs.

The club expects Kompany to be sidelined for weeks and miss an extended period. In his absence, English assistant coach Aaron Danks will take charge for Sunday's Bundesliga match against Freiburg. A specific recovery timeframe has not yet been determined as examinations continue.
