Sinaloa Governor Ruben Rocha Moya is accused of allegedly colluding with the Sinaloa Cartel to distribute drugs inside the U.S. The governor has been accused by the U.S. of conspiring with the cartel and abetting drug trafficking.

Rocha Moya returned to his post on Friday, but his return was not well received by the Mexican government or the ruling Morena party.

Facing widespread criticism, including from members of his own party, Rocha Moya reversed course. Just days after returning to office, he has once again requested a leave of absence.
