China imposes export controls on US companies in retaliation for sanctions

defense & military

China has announced sanctions on 10 American military-related defense companies.

The move comes as tit-for-tat retaliation after Washington's recent decision to expand its list of military-linked companies. Earlier this month, the Pentagon updated its 1260H list to include several Chinese technology companies it believes have aided Beijing's military, effectively barring them from defense contracts.

China's commerce ministry described the new export controls as a response to the US government's egregious act of adding to its so-called Chinese military enterprise list.
