A red humanoid robot from the Chinese smartphone maker Honor won a half-marathon in a Beijing suburb on Sunday morning. The robot completed the race in 50 minutes and 26 seconds, significantly cutting the previous robot record of 2 hours and 40 minutes.

The autonomous robot's performance surpassed the men's world record set by Jacob Kiplimo by nearly seven minutes. Dozens of humanoid robots participated in the event, showcasing China's speed in robotics and the country's technological leaps.

To avoid collisions with human athletes, the robots competed on a parallel course. While the winning machine ran autonomously, other robots were controlled remotely. Additionally, tech companies are making progress in fixing malfunctions for humanoid runners.
