Mexican TikTok influencer Cesar Gastelum shot dead during livestream in Sinaloa

César Gastélum, a Mexican social media influencer known for his comedy videos, was shot and killed on Tuesday in the city of Culiacán, Sinaloa state. The content creator, who had nearly 600,000 followers on TikTok, was killed while broadcasting a live stream on social media.

The attack occurred in a car park outside a KFC fast-food restaurant. Gastélum was filming with two friends, and all three were dressed in the bright orange jackets and backpacks of food delivery drivers. He was gunned down by a motorbike driver during the stream.

Local authorities confirmed the death in the northwestern city. The incident took place in Sinaloa state, a region where lethal cartel violence has become widespread.
